Keep Fit Hire has been hiring and selling exercise equipment across Brisbane and the Gold Coast since 2000. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it.
Keep Fit Hire is the trading name of Health and Fitness Hire Pty Ltd, ABN 67 102 778 147, of 2/26 Octal Street, Yatala QLD 4207.
We have written it in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, call us on 1300 800 776 and ask.
What we collect
When you browse the site. Our web server keeps standard access logs — the IP address you connected from, the pages you requested, the time, and the browser you used. This happens automatically on almost every website and we use it only to keep the site running and secure.
When you use the search box. We keep a list of the words people type into the search box on our site, so we can see what visitors are looking for and what we are missing. We store the words, the page the search was made from and how many results came back — nothing that identifies you. No IP address, no account, no cookie, and searches that look like an email address or a phone number are discarded rather than stored.
When you make an enquiry. Our contact form and rent-to-own enquiry form ask for your name, email address, phone number, and the suburb or postcode you are in, along with what equipment you are interested in and anything else you choose to tell us. These come to us by email.
When you hire or buy. To deliver equipment we need your name, delivery address, phone number and email address, and enough detail about the property to get the machine inside — stairs, access, that sort of thing.
When you apply for rent to own
This is the only part of our business where we ask for sensitive information, and we ask for it because a rent-to-own arrangement is a financial commitment that has to be assessed. We may ask for:
- your employment details, including your employer’s name, address and phone number, and when you were last paid
- your date of birth
- your driver’s licence number, the state that issued it, its expiry date and the card number on the back
- the bank account the weekly payments would come from, including BSB and account number
- your ABN, if you are self-employed
We do not collect any of that through this website. The form on our site asks only for your name, contact details, which machine you want and over how long. Everything else is taken by phone or on a form we send you directly.
What we do not collect
We think it is worth being specific about this, because most privacy policies are not.
- We have no advertising trackers. No Facebook pixel, no TikTok pixel, and no advertising network following you around the internet after you leave. Nothing here builds a profile of you to sell, or to aim advertising at you with.
- We do use Google Analytics. It tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, what sort of device they are on and roughly which part of the world they are in, and we use it to work out what to fix and what to write next. It is Google’s product: it sets cookies, and the information goes to Google and is held on their servers outside Australia. If you would rather not be counted, any browser setting or extension that blocks Google Analytics will keep you out of it, and nothing on this site will stop working.
- We count calculator use separately, on our own server. When somebody uses the calorie calculator, the page tells our own server that a calculation happened. That is the entire message. It does not include your age, height, weight or any figure you typed in, it carries no name, no address and no identifier, and it sets no cookie. All it does is add one to a running total, so we can see whether the tool is worth keeping.
- We do not load fonts, maps or scripts from other companies. Everything the site needs is served from our own server.
- The video on our home page loads nothing from YouTube until you press play. If you never press it, YouTube never knows you were here.
- We never see or store your card details. Payment is taken at delivery on our own card terminal, or by cash, or through Afterpay. Card numbers go from your card to the bank — they do not pass through this website and we do not write them down.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anybody. Ever.
Cookies
The site sets a small number of cookies: shopping cart and checkout cookies set by WooCommerce, so the site remembers what you have selected as you move between pages; caching cookies, which help pages load quickly; and Google Analytics cookies, which let Google tell a returning visitor from a new one.
There are no advertising cookies, and nothing we set is used to aim advertising at you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the cart is the only part of the site that will stop working properly if you do.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your information to answer your enquiry and quote you a price; to deliver, install, service and collect equipment; to assess a rent-to-own application and arrange the agreement; to take payment and keep the financial records the tax office requires; and to contact you about equipment you have on hire.
We do not add you to a marketing list without asking, and we do not send marketing email you did not sign up for.
Who we share it with
We share as little as possible, with:
- humm, the finance provider who assesses rent-to-own applications. Rent to own is arranged through humm rather than by us, so an application and the supporting details go to them for assessment. humm handles that information under its own privacy policy.
- Our own delivery team. Deliveries are done by our staff in our own van, not by a courier, so your address stays with us.
- Our email and website providers, who host the systems your enquiry passes through.
- Google, through Google Analytics. Which pages you looked at, what sort of device you used and roughly where you are goes to Google, along with the value of an order if you place one. It is processed on Google’s servers outside Australia. It is not linked to your name, your address or your contact details.
- Afterpay, if you choose to pay that way at the door — the transaction happens between you and Afterpay on their terminal.
- Our accountant, and government agencies, where the law requires it.
Some of the technology providers we rely on for hosting, email and backups may store data outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled to a comparable standard.
How long we keep it
- Rent-to-own applications that are declined or withdrawn are destroyed once the decision is made. We do not keep licence numbers, dates of birth or bank details for applications that did not proceed.
- Approved rent-to-own agreements are kept for the life of the agreement and then seven years, which is the period we are required to keep financial records.
- Hire and purchase records are kept for seven years for the same reason.
- General enquiries that do not turn into a booking are kept only as long as they are useful, and then deleted.
Keeping it safe
The site runs over an encrypted connection. Access to our systems is limited to people who need it. Paper forms containing identity or banking details are kept secure and destroyed on the timetable above rather than filed away indefinitely.
No system is perfect, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. If something did go wrong and your information was exposed in a way likely to cause you serious harm, we would tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Seeing your information, and correcting it
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and we will tell you. You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong, and we will. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need, and if we are not required to keep it, we will.
There is no charge for this. Call 1300 800 776 or email sales@keepfithire.com.
If you are unhappy
Tell us first — most things are a misunderstanding and we would rather fix it directly. Call 1300 800 776, email sales@keepfithire.com, or write to us at 2/26 Octal Street, Yatala QLD.
We will acknowledge your complaint and come back to you with an answer. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. This version was published on 31 July 2026.
